OIDCI was cited in the 2015 case study entitled “The Local Solutions Initiative in Practice: A Case Study of the USAID/Philippines”. The study cited OIDCI as an example of a Filipino organization who won a USAID project via an open competition solicitation.
This project that was managed by OIDCI is the Investment Enabling Environment (INVEST) Project (2011 to 2014). This project, which sought to strengthen the business sector through government reforms, was under the Partnership for Growth Program, a bilateral initiative of the Philippines and the United States. The study cited the technical assistance provided through INVEST to local political leaders of three Philippine cities in revising city codes in order to make these more investment-friendly. The study further noted that “in addition to achieving sustainability through policy change”, local government units (LGUs) were also assisted in developing action plans meant to guide these LGUs beyond the project’s duration.
The said case study has been lodged under the Resources section of The Power of Ownership, an online portal managed by Save the Children and Oxfam.
