As a follow-through of Phase 1 activity, DENR again commissioned OIDCI to undertake the Phase 2, which is the actual assessment of the COVID-19 Impacts on the Environment and Natural Resource (ENR)-Dependent Households and Community-Based Organizations. The Phase 2 activities will comprise the following:

  • Document the positive and negative impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on livelihood and welfare of the ENR-dependent households and community-based organizations (CBOs), e.g., farming and fishing People’s Organizations, on their: (i) economic activities; (ii) participation in Environment and Natural Resource (ENR) management interventions; and (iii) current attitudes and practices of households and CBOs;
  • Document the extent to which these effects and impacts and other related factors have affected the management of natural assets in upland and coastal ecosystems, taking into accounts gender perspective, among others; and
  • Provide an analysis and recommendations that would be useful to DENR management and its partners in crafting or adapting macro and site-level COVID 19-type response programs and policies towards recovery and resiliency.

 OIDCI, in collaboration with concerned DENR offices will select the final assessment site/s. The study will be undertaken in eight (8) months.
