(AEC : 2017)
Client and Funding Source: National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)
Contract duration: 2017
Sample Activities and Themes: industry studies; development of economic models.
The study aims to develop and construct an economic model that can be used to assess the potential effects of tariff modifications relating to the Philippines’ participation in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The model will be used to estimate the possible impact of proposed free trade arrangements on selected agriculture and industrial subsectors, including downstream and upstream industries; it will cover trade creation and trade diversion effects, among others.
The OIDCI Team will develop the model, conduct at least two industry studies using the model, and capacitate concerned NEDA personnel in the development, testing, and maintenance of the model. A final report will be submitted to NEDA illustrating the process of building the model and its results.
