OIDCI @ 35
August 1, 2018 marked the 35th anniversary of OIDCI in the development consulting field. Local and international partners, colleagues, and consultants joined the board of directors, stockholders, officers, and staff of OIDCI during its anniversary celebration.
In his message for the momentous occasion, Dr. Percy Sajise, chair of the OIDCI Board of Directors, said: “We [OIDCI] have fulfilled our mission and we are making a positive difference in the area of development. Most significant of all, we have established a strong credibility with our partners and clients which is also carrying us to more ventures and consulting grounds.”
OIDCI achieved this by “maintaining the ideals of professionalism, continuing learning process, regenerating capacity, consensus building, commitment to nation building and sustainable development, innovation, partnership and diversity of funding sources,” according to Chairman Sajise. He made note of OIDCI’s evolution over the past 35 years: nurturing people and evolving in its approach while gathering experiences and knowledge in doing development work.
Sending his congratulations and best wishes for the occasion, Former Prime Minister Cesar Virata commended the firm for carrying on the work of promoting sustainable development in a fast-changing world. Mr. Virata is warmly considered a mentor and godfather of OIDCI.
Herman Ongkiko, OIDCI President and COO, graciously acknowledged the firm’s guests for the celebration: local and international partners, colleagues, consultants, and friends who have helped bring OIDCI to where it is today – a proud, capable, and relevant all-Filipino development consulting firm pursuing global reach.
The ceremonial toast to the company was led by newly-minted OIDCI Senior Vice President Raymund Go, who touted the firm’s commitment to delivering good quality work and support to its Consultants. Manila Bay SDMP Partner and Team Leader Janjaap Brinkman, AFMP Team Leader Dr. Betty del Rosario, and NEDA Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Staff Director IV Nieva Natural also participated in giving the toast.
Thanking everyone for their invaluable support to OIDCI, President Herman Ongkiko closed the night’s celebration.
