MINDANAO FOCUS
OIDCI recognizes the importance of Mindanao in the economic development of the country and considers it as a special area of interest. For more than 15 years, we have provided technical assistance in development projects in the region, particularly in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and other conflict-affected areas.
Projects that we have implemented in the region work towards the growth of business and investment, increased social safeguards, sustainable management of natural resources, more informed and effective leadership, and development of peaceful and inclusive cities. Being a pioneer on integrated area development, we have sustainably advanced in Mindanao the value of capacitating communities on addressing socio-economic issues. We believe that community mobilization plays a crucial role in project design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. Working with LGUs is also part of our expertise as we consider LGUs to be frontliners in improving processes and standards. OIDCI has also worked on institutional development projects in Mindanao, with the end in view that institutions are major players in scaling-up innovative strategies, technologies and skills that are expected to provide benefits to a larger population.
