DRB: PRESENTATION ON THE DAVAO RIVER BASIN MASTER PLAN FRAMEWORK HELD IN DAVAO CITY AND BUKIDNON

The planning framework for the formulation of the Davao River Basin (DRB) Master Plan was presented to stakeholders in June 2014. The workshops were held to also validate the assessment of the Team on the current bio-physical and socio-economic situation in the DRB.

The first consultation was held in Davao City on June 17. Representatives from the Davao city LGU and several regional offices of national government agencies (NGA), including the Director of the River Basin Control Office, participated in the consultation. The private sector was represented by the Davao business chamber. Several representatives of indigenous communities were in attendance as well a representative from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. A separate workshop was conducted in Malaybalay, Bukidnon on June 19. The provincial LGU and the LGUs of Quezon, San Fernando, and Malaybalay were represented in the workshop. Several NGA representatives were also in attendance.

The workshop generated valuable inputs for the preparation of the draft of the master plan.
