PHILCCAP: MANGO COOP MEMBERS UNDERGO BUSINESS PLANNING TRAINING WORKSHOP
Under the Philippine Climate Change Adaptation Project, a Business Planning Training Workshop was conducted last April 2014 for the members of the Manga Upland Farmers Cooperative (MUFAMCO). MUFAMCO has been designated by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as partner in the management of the Peñablanca Protected Landscape and Seascape (PPLS) in Cagayan Province.
The business planning workshop is in support of the agro-forestry component of the PPLS management plan, which aims to control intrusions into the protected area while allowing sustainable use of the land. The workshop helped MUFAMCO in the development of their business plan for mango processing. Prior to the workshop, OIDCI provided technical assistance to MUFAMCO in agro-forestry and in the preparation of their agro-forestry plan.
