COMPUTER-ASSISTED PERSONAL INTERVIEWING (CAPI) MODULE FOR THE PLEDGE
BASELINE SURVEY PRE-TESTED
The modules for the PLEDGE baseline survey were pre-tested prior to the roll out of the survey. The baseline survey is for the future Impact Evaluation of the World Bank-funded PLEDGE or Programme for Local Economic Development through Enhanced Governance and Grassroots Empowerment. The survey will cover selected Bangsamoro barangays in six provinces in Mindanao.
The first pre-test that was conducted in September 2014 used the pen-and-paper interview method. The second pre-test, conducted in December 2014, used the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) module. Tablet computers were used for the conduct of the interview and the information captured were transmitted online to a cloud-based server and database managed by the OIDCI. This is the first time tablet computers are being used in a development-oriented survey in Mindanao.
Other than English and Bisaya, the interviews will be held using Yakan, Tausug and Maranao dialects.
