MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT SIGNED DURING PRESS LAUNCH OF LISTAHANG TUBIG

The Listahang Tubig initiative, a nationwide registry of water service providers, was officially launched in October 2014 during a press conference at the DILG Office in Quezon City. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed during the press launch among the National Water Resources Board (NWRB), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA). A web-based information system has been set up to build the registry, which aims to cover water supply systems (levels 1 to 3) in the 81 Philippine provinces by May 2015. The registry will be managed by the NWRB.

OIDCI is the contractor for this project, which is funded by the World Bank Water and Sanitation Program (WB-WSP). In collaboration with provincial LGUs, OIDCI will organize and manage the training of city and municipal LGUs in 75 provinces and provide technical assistance to these LGUs in the collection and entry of data on water service providers into the registry.
